Totally! Preachin' to the choir! I think it's AS important, maybe more, then preaching to "them'. (and how I hate to think of ANY group of people as "them") "We" get complacent. Living in Frisco and working (my own radio show) I do it EVERYDAY and yes, even HERE the ignorance and/or apathy and ennui is physically, mentally and distressingly despicable, dishonorable, repugnant, reprehensible, appalling, objectionable, offensive, obnoxious and should be considered traitorous and "Un-American". At the least, publicly shaming. Tho, because I've been practicing being an optimist, I'd call it "ignorance" for quite a few the "folks" as Mr. Bill-shit O'Really calls them (and you know, he's "Lookin' out for them") The reps in congress, the senate and the mendacity filled snarling heads of The Fascist Fox Faux News, obsessed with control and power, are the ones that carry and spread their "pure" and "simple" racism ERGO hate. Sadly, only 1 of 2 ways will conquer this: #1 We change our own conciseness and continue to "PREACH TO THE CHOIR" and then, in time, it spreads or is bred out. it's That OR #2 Sadly, Madame Guillotine needs to make an appearance, for they might not understand anything else; and so it seems, throughout history. Dig?

How to Be Pro-American
I have blue eyes and pink skin (well, SOME places) and I'm a "native" of "The people of the fire" (yes, I look more like my Irish Pa then my Potawatomi/French Ma) Remember, WE came over the Bering land bridge, albeit in the neighborhood of 16,000 years ago. But, little sister, I'm sick of it too and bet both of us would be EVEN MORE SO if we were around in the last 5 centuries and accepted gifts of blankets and what not...dig? If I thought there was 1, I'd say, "God help me I've been in so many fights and God help me, there's so MANY of them!" Now, so sick and tired of 'em (fights AND them) I've finally figured to show those folks love, and hope that thru their own shame, their consciousness changes (as mine did, thru love, shame and hope) Shame's not a well used behavior in these United States, unless 1's wrongs are found out of course and even THEN, here (the U.S o' A.) the finger usually points somewhere else. But, with hope and a patience I've rarely known, maybe we can help it along a bit. Come to Frisco we'll swallow refreshment and discuss all; honestly, there's not much more or more better in life.

How to Be Pro-American
I'm glad you said it Debaba. (albeit on Za Za Huffington's post) Us "artist types" and to an extent travelers, have been saying what you say here and living (if not also preaching) almost exactly your point. I used to refer to you and the folks (many my friends and family) as "Decaf Mocha" instead of "Deepak Chopra" for it seemed like those that (for lack of a better term) "followed" you, would order exactly that drink when at a coffee house (sugar free and non-fat or dairy, milk of course) and it always would begs the question: "What's the point?" I guess I'm getting older (48 Aug 22) and the cynical punker is leaving me; I say "Thanks Swami!" Like it or not, it's all about love AND community. This dirt clod spinning thru space at thousands of miles an hour is actually a very, very small place and tho I wasn't that good at NOT "bothering his neighbors" in elementary school, my being a vagabond has taught that we're all one, even those that sadly or ignorantly don't go towards the light. I think for the 1st time ever our President, even more so because of his name Barack Hussein Obama, is STARTING to get the point across to others in this world, that we're all in it together. Dig?

Keith Olbermann, Bill O'Reilly Truce Just Temporary, Fight Will Be Back On Soon: Lloyd Grove
I got suckered in to read that one! What a load O' crap. That guy reads like an O'Really pal and I have a feeling that Herr Olbermann was the only honesty in the LAST article when he said the thing about (paraphrasing)".. he hasn't made any deals with anyone." And why should he? The Fascist Fox Faux News and Mr. Bill shit O'Really LIE LIE LIE all the time! It's hard to believe anyone watches are takes serious anything they broadcast unless they're just straight up ignorant or bigots or haters of some kind or just plain "old fashioned" dig? Fox is correct about 1 thing, there is no spinning; they stop the spin and bring you the all encompassing permeating smell of mendacity!

Say It Ain't So, Keith O
Mr. Moore (and folks!) I assume you all KNOW, Mr. Billshit O'Really of The Fascist Fox Faux News doesn't "confabulate(s)" he (and they) just lie. LIARS. it used to be "spin" while claiming "The No Spin Zone" and that was funny. But since I saw the look on O'Really's face the week during and after the inauguration, I knew it was going to get bad. (he looked like a man in therapy for beating his wife...or one who's 15 year old daughter is smoking weed and pregnant. Dig?) He looked totally, shocked. Herr Olbermann, is the ONLY media figure (TV that is) that CONSISTENTLY tries to keep honest (tho impossible) O'Really and other haters of change and success (also known as "fear" mongers or "Right Wingers" tho, they should be called "Wrong Wingers") Again, Herr Olbermann points out the LIES, the BIGOTRY and the HATEFUL IGNORANCE that Mr Billshit O'Really and the Fascist Fox Faux News spew out EVERYDAY to ignorant, scared folks and others that just hate, SHOW AFTER SHOW. The ONLY solace I (or we?) can take from this, is the quote from Herr Olbermann, saying: ""I am party to no deal". And what's with the "It was time to grow up" quote from a "senior employee of one of the companies"? That would be back to the Status Quo, just like the blue dogs and Republicans over OUR health care and OUR lives. So, I say: Totally Mr. Moore, SAY IT AIN'T SO!
